At Southern Electric, we believe smooth projects start with strong coordination. That’s where you come in. We’re hiring a Permits Coordinator to help keep our electrical jobs on track by handling the permitting and inspection process with care, accuracy, and follow-through.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying organized, working with both people and paperwork, and playing a key part in helping teams succeed.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and submit permit applications for electrical projects

  • Communicate with cities, counties, and utility companies to schedule inspections

  • Keep records organized and up to date

  • Share permit statuses and inspection results with our internal teams

  • Stay informed on permitting rules across different areas

  • Handle corrections or re-submissions promptly

  • Help make sure project deadlines are met by staying ahead of permitting needs

Job requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience with permits, construction, or admin work is helpful—but not required

  • Willing to learn and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Organized, reliable, and comfortable handling multiple tasks

  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken

  • Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Bonus if you’ve worked in electrical, construction, or permitting before
